STLC Basic Components:
Sample Platens
The sample platen is the key to the entire STLC system. It is the transferable
plate that holds the specimen. The special turn-to-lock design was developed
specifically for smooth and confident transfer of a
sample among different chambers. Platens are available in a variety of configurations
to allow flexibility and transferability among different vacuum chambers.

Transfer Fork
The transfer fork moves the sample platen from one chamber to another or transports a platen to and from a storage carousel. Transfer forks can be either axial or radial depending on the application. A complete line of linear and rotary feedthroughs are available to meet the most demanding specifications.

Sample Dock
The sample dock holds the platen within the vacuum chamber and provides electrical
connections to the platen. The dock can be mounted on a variety of gearboxes
depending on the degrees of movement and types of heating
and cooling required.
